One of my favorite days was when Kenny and I headed to the Blue Ridge mountains to meet up with Lindsey and Casey. It was a day I was so excited for ever since Lindsey reached out to me to capture their engagement photos! They are having a destination wedding and wanted to start the celebration off with having some amazing photos together during an awesome date in the mountains.
Did I mention that they brought their ADORABLE dog Herbie??? You know how pet friendly we are, so getting to meet their fur baby was amazing 🙂 AND HE’S SO CUTE TOO.
Driving up to meeting them, the clouds started rolling in and right as we were getting close to our spot on the Blue Ridge Parkway, the heavens released a WHOLE bunch of rain. And I mean like those big fat rain drops meant to soak every part of every thing. We both parked at our spot and just looked at each other through our rainy car windows and shrugged. I bolted over to them and into their backseat to chat about our options. Let me say… they had my FAVORITE response and attitude. They were up for anything!! They said yeah lets see if it lets up and lets still do it!!
I personally am always good as long as it isn’t heavy rain because ya know cameras and water aren’t exactly the best of friends. LOL So we waited a few minutes together and chatted about all the things and magically…. the rain started to let up. We all dashed out of the car and got to work.
And YALL. We got like all of the weather options in Virginia all in the next couple of hours. And it was the coolest thing. It started out still misty rain and FOG. You honestly would have thought we were somewhere in the PNW. It looked exactly like what I imagine its like out there in the mountains. Then we went to just foggy, then clouds, then straight sun!! Like seriously all the weathers possible we got. Which was amazing. The foggy and overcast and rainy made their photos feel SO intimate and romantic and cozy. And the sun was amazing too. Yall know how much I already love the sunshine.
