Have you ever hosted a styled shoot or content day in a studio? No you neither? Cool, let’s go to one together 😉 I had never been to Contrast RVA before and boy was I blown away. Huge, open, inviting, well lit, good communication with the owners. Superb location in the heart of Richmond, Virginia.
This would be my first styled shoot I’d ever attending and boy was I hooked after this day….. Being able to be around like minded creatives and given a space that you can explore and experiment in and test out your gear in pretend wedding scenarios with real models and real vendors in the wedding community is just amazing. Seeing so many different aspects of a wedding day and what goes INTO a wedding day come together is so cool. Not only do you get to see a little behind the scenes of some wedding vendors, but you learn different things from the other creatives there, or you learn in a non pressure environment how to guide couples or learn which images to get on an actual wedding day.
Plus you get to make amazing connections with the vendors, the models and your hosts! The host for this content day was Styled Memories. Styled Memories is owned by Alexis James who herself is a former model! Alexis recently got married to her now husband Tevin and together they create these luxury content days available to lots of photographers and videographers. These retreats are SO much work but Alexis makes it look flawless. She is so kind and welcoming even when you’ve never been to one before! Check out the vendors listed below and support them!
